Mark Novak, the President and COO of Global Security Group, Inc., brings over two decades of experience from the New York City Police Department, where he served as a Captain and supervisor for twelve years. With a background in responding to large-scale incidents and emergencies, Mark’s expertise includes serving as the commanding officer of a busy detective division.

Throughout his career, Mark received extensive training from renowned agencies such as the NYPD, FBI, Department of Homeland Security, and the City’s Office of Emergency Management. His diverse training covered physical security, critical incident preparedness, counter-terrorism, hazardous materials, and more.

Mark’s certifications include teaching New York State Security Guard classes and courses on Non-Fire Emergencies, Active Shooter Response, and Medical Emergency Preparedness for the Fire Department of the City of New York. He is a sought-after instructor, delivering courses on topics like bank robbery threat awareness, active shooter response, conflict resolution, and emergency response.

As GSG’s COO, Mark has contributed to emergency response plans for over a hundred high-rise buildings in NYC, including iconic structures like the World Financial Center and the United Nations Plaza buildings.
