Required 18-Hour Firearms Training for Concealed Carry Applicants
The recent decision by the Supreme Court in New York State Rifle and Pistol Association v. Bruen has made it possible for New York residents, not otherwise barred from owning a firearm by law, to obtain a concealed carry permit. Applicants wishing to carry a firearm will be required to attend a mandatory sixteen (16) hours of classroom instruction followed by two (2) hours of safe weapons handling training and a live-fire proficiency assessment on a range.

Veterans of the Firearms Training Unit at the DEA/FBI academy in Quantico, Virginia, they will train you to handle a firearm in the same manner as officers from the nation’s most elite law enforcement agencies. Advanced training programs and private instruction is also available. GSG also offers virtual, scenario-based training with a state-of-the-art Meggitt Firearms Training Simulator.
